GARETH'S BACKGROUND
Gareth was first elected to the Assembly in 2008. He was appointed by Mayor of London Boris Johnson to serve on the London Fire & Emergency Planning Authority and was appointed Chairman of the Authority for the final two years of Boris’ term as Mayor.
In 2015 Gareth became Leader of the GLA Conservative Group and the following year he was re-elected to the London Assembly, to represent the constituency of Bexley and Bromley.
In October 2017, Gareth was listed by Iain Dale at Number 97 in the ‘100 Most Influential on the Right’ list on the website ConservativeHome and was also listed by the Evening Standard as one of the 1,000 most influential Londoners of the year.
